Content management system (CMS) allows the non-technical author to manage the creation, modification, and removal of content from a website without needing the expertise of a webmaster. There are two main types of CMS systems. An offline CMS has to be installed at the server end and It requires a technical know-how to get it up-and-running correctly and safely. An online CMS is a system that is accessed directly from a website, from within a standard web browser. It is much easier to begin working with, as the system is already installed on the server, and it can be accessed from anywhere, at anytime.
Mid-market CMS solutions are typically implemented at the enterprise level and facilitate updating by many individuals throughout the company. They offer many of the same basic features of high-end solutions (e.g., workflow, security, search, template, email), but typically at a lower performance level. |
