Broadband suppliers are failing their consumers according to a new customer satisfaction survey.
Half of all broadband customers have reported to be dissatisfied with the service they are receiving.
A survey conducted by uSwitch also found that the gap between the top and bottom ranked providers is almost 21 per cent in satisfaction score, which is an eight per cent increase on 2007.
PlusNet came top of the rankings and won the Best Overall Provider award from uSwitch, following a 86 per cent customer satisfaction score.
Bottom of the list was Orange with over a third of customers saying they were not happy with the providers service.
Charolotte Nunes, a uSwitch spokesperson, told IT Pro: "The ISPs used to put these problems down to teething problems, but it's been seven years now. The technology's bedded down and customers expect more than they did."
She added that broadband is an essential part of people's lives now and so they expect more.
