Business people are increasingly taking risks by having discussing corporate information in public, according to an industry expert.
Vodafone has warned that technology has increased so that business people do not have to take the risk of discussing confidential matters in public.
Samantha Botting, senior consultant at the mobile phone company, said people should remember when discussing personal or corporate matters, or gossip, that the person sitting next tot hem could be a customer, competitor or supplier.
"70 per cent of people are talking business while on their phone while they're travelling, but only six per cent of people use code-names for things that are highly sensitive and which might be deemed confidential company secrets," she added.
"The mobile services on train connections are so good now that you don't have to just use your phone for voice calls and for texting."
Ms Botting stated that phone devices like email or using a laptop when in a can eradicate divulging confidential details to the public.
Research by Vodafone showed that one in five people has talked about their boss in public, despite not knowing who is listening.
