Ceragon Networks, a provider of high-capacity wireless backhaul solutions, said that it is providing a variety of new carrier-grade wireless Ethernet platforms. The FibeAir IP-10 family of Ethernet platforms combines advanced IP and TDM networking which the company said will allow risk-free migration "with the highest possible capacities at the lowest overall cost". President and CEO of Ceragon Networks Ltd Ira Palti commented: "The phenomenal growth in mobile data traffic takes a huge toll out of the operators' network and financial resources, while revenue-per-data-bit is on the decline".
Enabling migration from traditional backhaul networks to IP, the product incorporates an integrated Ethernet switch, operation administration and maintenance tools, and stackable radios with TDM cross-connect for nodal site applications.
FibeAir IP-10 offers mobile operators the benefit of simplified installation and greater use of radio link budgets. There is also ample scope for future capacity improvements.
Ceragon's shares rose 11.5 per cent on the day the company announced the launch of the new product.
