Firms who have looked into computer recycling may now want to focus on their printers, reports one firm.
Ink cartridges are one area where the cost and environmental implications of a printer can be combated, according to Recycle.co.uk.
Other areas which can be examined are using recycled paper and reducing waste, in addition to being a smart shopper.
When purchasing a new printer the source advises looking at the output and the cartridge configuration.
Cartridges which use colour in one and black in the other may be wasteful as the colour item may need replacing when just one tone has run out.
When buying a new cartridge opt for recycled ones, the source advises, as they are as "good as new, cheaper and environmentally responsible".
One IT hosting company recently branded computer recycling as "vital", saying replacing three-year-old servers is essential.
Memset said it is not economically or environmentally friendly to keep old equipment, with green servers being ideal to save electricity. |
