Networking firm D-Link has announced that a number of its products have been awarded environmentally-friendly ENERGY STAR ratings.
ENERGY STAR is a joint scheme set up by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DoE) to promote energy efficiency.
Among those products certified are D-Link's DCS-2120 3G internet camera, the DIR-655 Gigabit wireless N router and the DSM-510 media streamer.
Kevin Wen, president of D-Link Europe, said: "D-Link is committed to energy efficiency across our product portfolio. D-Link was the first networking vendor to establish product accreditation with ENERGY STAR in the US and we are delighted to see the programme become firmly established in Europe with strong EU backing."
Last year, D-Link became the first company to sell Green Ethernet switches, which employ up to 44 per cent less energy than conventional switches.
The ENERGY STAR scheme was set up in 1992 as a voluntary labelling programme.
