Businesses have been told they can keep the old version of Internet Explorer (IE) when Microsoft launches IE7 next month.
The new system will be rolled out via Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) on the February 12th and is available for manual download on the website already, according to ComputerWorld.
If companies do not take measures to stop it the update may occur automatically on their users' computers, reports the website.
"If you have configured WSUS to 'auto-approve' Update Rollup packages, Windows Internet Explorer 7 will be automatically approved for installation after February 12th," a Microsoft support document warned.
Administrators need to disable the auto-approval rule on their WSUS system, and then re-instate it after the upgrade has passed.
Users will no longer need to prove they have a valid copy of Windows XP running on the system to install the download, according to the website
The new version of IE is the most secure version yet and has tabbed browsing and advanced printing options, says the Microsoft website.
