IT staff are feeling increasingly separate from the decision making processes in their companies, according to a new survey.
The research by CA of 250 companies found that over two-thirds of workers felt that most IT decisions are made by people outside of the department, reports ITPro.
More people, 73 per cent, thought that the business decision processes are made with disregard to the effect it will have on IT staff.
Kirsten Cox, the Europe, Middle East and Africa product marketing director at CA, told the website: "Many of these issues could be resolved if IT was involved upfront in the decision-making process alongside the business."
The software company found that the disenfranchisement of IT staff has led to a lack of proper investment in infrastructure.
Due to the rising importance of technology within companies, another survey of chief information officers found that they have begun to be recognised more in the leadership of firms.
