UK businesses need to invest more in managed bandwidth services in order to facilitate their working processes, an expert has said.
According to Broadbandchoices.co.uk, it is key that every company has equal access to online facilities and bandwidth speeds, with the firm describing it as "hugely important".
Michael Phillips, product director of the website, said: "It will facilitate things like homeworking and remote conferencing…at the moment, whilst they are possible, are invariably quite hard work."
He added that companies will increasingly need to move large files over the internet, for which they will need improved managed bandwidth services.
The Broadband Stakeholders Group found the long-term benefits of the wide-spread deployment of next-generation broadband will outweigh the £16 billion costs.
BT has recently begun this process, announcing it plans to roll out super-fast broadband in the next four years.
The firm will invest £1.5 billion in the programme to provide potential speeds of 1,000 mbps in the future.
