India will outsource eight million jobs in the next ten years, as the practice of offshoring booms.
Many of the jobs will be created in the smaller cities of the country as currently 90 per cent of the jobs are based in India's top seven cities, reports ZDNet.
Ahead of this job creation, it is said that changes to the infrastructure are needed, in addition to government education in the sector.
It is estimated that around 50 per cent of the skills will come from these smaller cities, where a skills shortage is prevalent.
Som Mittal, the Nasscom president, told the website: "We see immense potential in the next set of locations if the right steps are taken now."
It was recently revealed that IT companies are looking for an alternative location for outsourcing from India.
BusinessWeek reported that higher staffing costs and turnover and infrastructure issues are leading companies to seek their outsourcing from other locations.
