The IT division of McAlpine has clinched an outsourcing deal with low-cost airline easyJet, it has been announced.
The orange-liveried airline will outsource its IT helpdesk functions to McAlpine in a deal whose value has not been disclosed, IT Pro reports.
Under the arrangement McAlpine will provide 24-hour support to the airline's 5,000 employees, who are located at 86 different airports.
McAlpine has already been supplying a voice and data managed services facility at easyJet's headquarters in Luton.
Easyjet's IT services delivery manager Bill Codd told the magazine this existing relationship was one reason why McAlpine has been chosen to provide the outsourced service, saying: "The team has already proven that it can flexibly respond to changes in our demand for IT services and smoothly transition easyJet into our new headquarters."
