More firms are opting for managed IT outsourcing in the current economic climate, according to a managed IT services firm.
TPI, part of the Information Services Group, a leading IT services company, has said the strongest half-year performance has been seen in the industry in a decade.
According to the firm, a large portion of this growth is taking place in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
So far this year over 39 billion euros (£30.7 billion) worth of contracts have been signed, totalling 285 managed IT outsourcing deals.
Duncan Aitchison, partner and president of the EMEA division of the firm, said: "European companies are expressing their concerns regarding the softening business climate by taking steps to reduce operating costs and restructure the nature of their business-support functions to have a more variable cost profile."
He added there is "a tone of urgency" in these plans, while not being desperate.
Gartner has recently found firms need to effectively organise services like managed IT outsourcing and managed data centres in order to gain from them.
