A new Google search engine has been launched to find malware in a bid to reduce online security attacks.
The brainchild of software engineer HD Moore, users will be able to enter keywords into the Malware Search engine and hunt down live malware samples.
Users enter the name of a specified malware, such as Bagle, SoBig or MyDoom, and the engine will search through hundreds of thousands of websites to track down the source of the virus.
The search engine, which is similar to Google's design, can also be used to enter more general terms such as email or Trojan.
Malware Search is open source and is designed to be user-friendly on a web interface.
Malware is software designed specifically to infiltrate and damage computer systems, and includes Trojan horses, spyware viruses and worms.
