The managed network security firm behind the IT infrastructure of the Beijing Olympic Games has claimed the event's technology provision was carried out without a hitch.
Atos Origin said it provided IT systems and software for the Games and processed over 80 per cent more competition data for global media and news agencies than in previous years.
Despite hackers and cybercriminals trying to take advantage of the spectacle, the group stated that no security breach had taken place that impacted the Olympics.
Philippe Germond, chief executive and chairman of the firm, said: "IT is changing the way that the Olympic Games are viewed and we are playing a mission-critical role in ensuring that richer, more detailed and colourful content is available immediately to audiences around the world."
Last week, IT security firm Symantec claimed managed security services are as important as readiness and reliability when businesses choose a company to host their website.
