Rightmove, the property firm, has appointed ControlCircle for its managed data centre services.
The company claims to have been one of the pioneers to use the web to assist sales and rentals, with it now being the UK's leading property website.
Due to the high level of web traffic the firm receives it says availability and resilience in its systems are crucial.
It has previously operated out of two data centres but the firm said the costs involved in investing in more made it a "costly and wasteful approach".
The firm has now appointed ControlCircle for its managed data centres, having three with the company, in a move which it says cuts hardware purchase costs.
Luke West, operations manager at Rightmove, said: "It made far more sense and less hassle to work with a specialist like ControlCircle to consolidate some of this operational overhead."
ControlCircle has clients like KPMG, Moveme.com, Sega and Confetti.co.uk and has clients in London, Paris, Berlin, Hong Kong and the US.
