New figures suggest that small and medium businesses will be spending $2.44 billion on customer service and resource management software this year.
Globalisation and the need for more efficiency in operations will be driving spending on hosted software, according to a report by AMI
In Britain, there is a strong demand for customer service management solutions with spending on these products escalating by 23 per cent each year.
However, in Britain, the US and Germany, the compound annual growth rate in spending will remain steady at around 12 to 13 per cent due to saturation in the market.
The growth in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM) is largely fuelled by the growing market in the Asia-Pacific region.
Spencer Richardson an analyst at AMI commented: "Hosted software solutions already account for four per cent of the total global software spend by SMBs. This is set to rise in the coming years."
But the US market is still responsible for 52 per cent of the overall $2 billion global investment in hosted software, with Germany second, spending nine per cent, and Britain coming fourth.
