IT analyst firm Gartner has said the best way for companies to save money over the next few years is to increase their bandwidth by using WAN optimisation products.
Bob Hafner, an analyst at the company, said that such a move could save companies a global total of £10 billion over the next five years, Computer World UK reports.
In addition to this, making full internet usage an alternative to private services could save an extra £17.5 billion, he added.
Mr Hafner stated: "These are not huge dollars, but they all add up."
Instead of such wise spending, however, Mr Hafner believed companies will waste £65 billion on the wrong equipment over the period.
While Gartner warns over how companies invest in IT products, BT is targeting those wanting to improve their bandwidth with a new product.
The Sharedband aggregation suite is designed to enable firms to combine two or more broadband lines together in order to speed up download and upload times.
