Businesses can access Microsoft .NET services more easily by using a new platform created by the software development giant, it has been claimed.
Dan Scarfe, chief executive of IT services provider Dot Net Solutions, said companies will be able to make use of utility computing more easily with the new Microsoft Azure product.
He went on to say utility computing means modernising a company's server infrastructure to accommodate peak usage.
Mr Scarfe continued: "If the customer has a high data processing requirement at certain times of the day, or month, or even the year, then they can ramp-up their infrastructure just for that short period of time."
He added banks which have end of day processing or retailers that want to improve their infrastructure before Christmas could benefit from the product.
According to Microsoft, .NET services which are implementations of familiar .NET Framework concepts such as workflow and access control compose part of the Azure platform.
