IDC’s new survey on Mobile Enterprise claims that in the next three years, more than one billion workers across the globe will be working remotely or as ‘virtual workforce.’ The survey was lead by Stacy Crook a senior research analyst at IDC on mobile enterprise.
The survey shows that of the 1.3 billion workers, 244.6 million will be in Europe, 838.7 million in ‘emerging economies’ of Asia Pacific region and 212.1 million in Canada, Latin America and US.

Researchers at IDC have found that slower than expected growth was experienced in Q1 2013 for PC sales in China, which is the largest PC market in the world.
Whilst it’s thought that there were contributing factors to the decline, such as the Chinese New Year, budget cuts and anti-corruption measures, the reduction in growth still came as something of a surprise. It’s thought that the market will recover slightly in March, although not enough to offset a weak February.

Research analysts at IDC have found that the lack of IT
skills when it comes to the cloud computing sector will be outpaced by demand
for the technology in the next few years.
This is nothing new, in 2012 around 1.7m jobs could not be
filled around the globe due to lack of training, study, certification and

The latest analysis from IDC has revealed that worldwide PC
shipments even lower than expected in the final quarter of 2012, down by 6.4%
on the previous year.
In total, 89.8 million units were shipped worldwide in the
final quarter, which is worse than the forecast decline, which was 4.4%. Sales
were expected to show a dip due to the increase in the tablet and smartphone
market, but it was thought that the launch of Windows 8 may bolster the market
